In Gridiron Gang the producers use such shots as the one above to create the illusion that the audience are in the room and that the camera angle shows that this room is quite small. Due to this place being where the juveniles sleep, the viewers attention is automatically draw to the desk in the middle which is lit up. This is effective as it is already in the audiences view and the fact that it is well lit compared to the rest of the room also makes it effective.
